Description
Heyue Pedestrian Bridge is a project of civil works and urban landscape. It focuses on footbridge design and coordinates the surrounding landscape and traffic. The 1,500sqm site area covers various
accessibility facilities, such as vertical traffic (glass-façadelifts on both sides), wide and gentle stairs and platform, and double-layer stair railing. The footbridge, stretches across Heyue Road, the east-west main artery of Lecong Town, connecting the surrounding villages and providing a safe and convenient wayof goingfor local villagers. Because of rapid urbanization, highway networks extend to countryside, giving vehicles road privilege. The architect aims to improve the pedestrian system of this area. Social responsibilities and human concern can be seen in the design, which is a true positive architectural exploration towards local nature and social culture.
